Couples and psychosexual therapy
Psychosexual and relationship therapy- How I work
This can appeal to individuals or couples (or those with a romantic or sexual relationship) who have relational or sexual issues. I work integratively using a variety of styles adapted to your needs. I take an active part in the process by listening and giving feedback. The problematic relational dynamic will recreate itself within the counseling room, providing us the opportunity to understand and work through it. I endeavor to keep the communication channels open, and equal, to encourage responsibility and expand awareness. I aim to empower clients by being self-reflective, honest, truthful, and direct.
Agreeing on the focus of our work is a collaborative and important task. I will interrupt destructive patterns of behavior when they present and ask that you be willing to work and grow. We may agree on 'homework' so that the process continues and expands outside of sessions. This would obviously be your decision and may include experiential exercises, reading, or online engagement
I am interested in improving couples' communication, deepening intimacy, and understanding. I have many of experience with compulsivity and online presentations. I have a special interest in trauma and how this shows up emotionally, relationally, and sexually.
